Happy day...

We have electricity!!! We are finally open in Amagansett after Irene, boy was it a long and not profitable time.
Anyway, pretty flowers to make us all forget the unpleasant!

But never boring!
Well I never thought that I'd be driving into an oncoming hurricane to have a crew screw plywood over all of the shops windows and doors, but that's what you get when you own your own business. Thank goodness we survived almost unscathed ( we lost a gutter and little roof ) but the most damaging is the loss of business :( We still don't have power and there is no end in sight. Oh the joys of retail!

Grey Gardens....

no but grey none the less. A friend of mine ( Jane Dagmi ) asked via facebook, if anyone had rooms decorated with grey/ gray and was like "yes" my entire life including all three shops.
I am a BIG believer in this color! Above is a corner of our living room in spring light.. grey, gray and more of it~

Is it work or is the living easy?....

After working for how many days in a row, I saw this! It kinda made me mad but kinda really happy at the same time. Owning retail shops is like picking up trash in NYC, your work is never done! So why not make the most of it?

Give me Liberty....

The amazing Jeanine Payer was in town last week and I was lucky enough to preview her new collection. Jeanine and her team have combined her wonderful metal work with some fantastic Liberty of London fabrics. The textures of torn/ braided fabric and hammered silver and brass was truly inspired...

and thirdly, they miraculously become things of beauty without any dirty, hot work... just kidding it's both dirty and if you are making them outside on a summer day it's VERY hot.
Hopefully this little beauty will be on it's way to a new home this week.

A new chapter....

Good morning everyone.
We were lucky enough to have a wonderful article written about the new shop in Amagansett for Hamptons Magazine. It was so much fun to be there during the shoot and to then see what made it into the article.
