A woosh of colors...

Does anyone else see a trend with the bright color sneakers? 

It is an easy way to make a statement or brighten up a cloudy day.

I like the Galapagos Green Turtle, because sea turtles are a dying breed. They lay eggs above the high-tide mark and then when they eggs hatch, there's the turtle walk to the sea... and how cute is THAT?!

Last week a woman, Krista, mentioned that anything with bird feet sparks an interest and she had seen the bird feet in passing a few days ago and came back to see them again.  She ended up purchasing two pairs of the gold bird feet: one for her daughter who is an actress and one for herself.

The significance of the bird feet:
1). Krista, along with her daughter, the actress Emma Stone, her husband and son all have a tatoo of bird feet on their inner wrists. 
2). Emma loves the song "Blackbird" by the Beatles.  The bird feet image were drawn by Sir Paul McCartney whom Emma had met.
3).  After being notified that she would be hosting SNL and fulfilling her lifelong dream she contacted Sir Paul McCartney and asked if he would draw her a pair of bird feet.  He sent along a few options and she chose the one show in the photo below.
4).  The bird feet signify new beginnings:  Krista has been 2 years clear of breast cancer and Emma fulfilled a lifelong dream of hosting SNL.  The day after SNL the bird feet, drawn by Sir Paul McCartney, were tatooed on their wrists in NYC.

Plum purple accents

I love the simplicity of this outfit accented with the deep plum purple bag.  I emulate this style, however, to make it my own I would pin a bright flower pin on my lapel.

Genevieve, 2nd cousin to Jill Platner, a jewelry designer based in New York City, was wearing the "sassafras" necklace and a double panel shirred skirt by XCVI in a deep plum color accented by purple & gray argyle socks and short black lace-up boots.  A bit of "Mary Poppins" sprang to mind...

A world rich with biodiversity

the monthly shuffle...

Yesterday afternoon I picked up some John Derian pieces to fill in our stock, at both Cursive locations, and ended up staying and helping out Elena with a last-minute rush of customers and re-merchandising the John Derian cabinet. Of course, the minute you start to move product from one shelf to another then the surrounding shelves must be evaluated and shifted so everything is consistent and fresh.  Our idea of moving just a few things turned into a 2-hour shuffle but it was worth it and may turn into a monthly shuffle!

I love seeing the glass bottles of liquid soap glow and it brightens the top shelf 

of the John Derian cabinet.

 

I'm all about textures and colors so we mixed in some striped glasses 

with the spring colors of gift soaps.
