Isa wearing Filippa K

This dress captured the essence of what I've been looking for in a summer dress...

...the softest cotton,
gentle pleating down the front,
and the long tie-back detail feels organic.

The dress is by Filippa K, a Swedish clothing designer and Isa, the woman wearing the dress, is Filippa K's sister. I stumbled upon Filippa K's store in Stockholm, 7 years ago, and bought the most comfortable heavy cotton sweater in navy that I still wear today.

Solid chunks of North American hardwood embraces a custom post-it pad of recycled paper and a hole to hold your pen. A super fun gift for a new graduate, new job, brand new office, or command center for your mom (something I have been trying to create for my mother in her apt).

Lapham's Quarterly

I have seen this on the newsstands at Barnes & Noble...

... and the back of this issue was the inspiration for...

THIS!

Fonts, used as a medium to tell a story, will always catch my eye.

Maybe it is when I used to watch my father, a watercolorist, graphic designer and calligrapher address several hundred wedding invitations, or maybe it was in college when I started out as a graphic design major in college and flipped through my share of font books. Who knows... but seeing this tote bag and knowing where the inspiration came from was right up my alley!

Michelle, the associate editor of Lapham's Quarterly, designed this tote.
